Walk for Cancer Help

Join CancerHelp in their inaugural canal walk between their two cancer support centres – Croston House and Vine House. This charity walk celebrates the 30th Anniversary Appeal, taking in some lovely parts of the Lancashire countryside and has only a small distance in urban areas.

Both cancer support centres will be holding open days on the event day to support the event. If you are interested in seeing more of what they do, and how they help people living with and beyond cancer please come along and meet their Team and see their facilities.

There are a range of distances that people can register for, suiting walker of all ages, fitness levels, families, dog walkers, groups of friends or just for fun!

Finish Location: Vine House, 20 – 22 Cromwell Road, Ribbleton, Preston PR2 6YB
Route Options: Group Relay Walk / Individual Long Walk

The Canal Walk – Long Route 

  • The house to house canal walk (Croston House, Garstang to Vine House, Ribbleton) in its entirety is between 19 and 20 miles in length, ideal for regular walkers or for those wanting to train and fancy a challenge. There will be refreshments stops on route, and sausage butties (vegetarian options will be available) at the end of the walk at Vine House.

The Canal Walk – Group Relay

  • Fancy the challenge, but want to split the leg work? – You can complete the full distance as a group. The route is split into 3 sections, so you could complete the full distance as a group, with each of you walking a 1/3 of the route each (like a relay). There will be refreshments stops on route, and sausage butties (vegetarian options will be available) at the end of the walk at Vine House.
